My music collection is a terrible mess and it irks me. I've got songs on my lappie and desktop I wish I could have some icloud-alike platform to help me manage all my songs in one place! It's so cumbersome to have to transfer songs from one place to another!
Apparently, Ferry Corsten is in SG tonight at Zouk. Zouk seems like the best club in SG because they get overseas disc jockeys to play, bigshot ones (or reasonably well-known ones) somemore. They brought in Kaskade last week and today Ferry Corsten. They are the reason to frequent clubs for trance music lovers.
Anyway, I am intending to do a mixtape, more of a compilation of dope dance music to groove to. haha.
Sometimes I think I am a tad too naive in the sense that I tend to trust too much and be contented with what is seemingly the ''truth''. I don't think that's being dumb though, it's just I tend to believe in the ''good-naturedness'' in people (though logically I know that is not the case). Not everyone though, some people are straightfaced cheaters. I wonder why I still get abhorred by negativity such as betrayal, backstabbing, hypocrisy blah blah when I have seen so much before (or maybe I haven't). But what good is it to condition yourself to be desensitized to negativity. Wouldn't you be just like one of them? The saddest thing to happen is when you become truly immnuized to negativity. I guess you must strike some kind of balance- between being trusting and cautious. Question is how.

I love Portishead so much.. Their music is so psychedelic and spiritual. What's captivating about them, is how they are so innovative and original sounding.

The weather outside is pretty cold now. Perfect night for chrismas carols and feeling all chrismas-sy, warm and fuzzy :)Anyway, I absolutely love this song ''Greensleeve'' in minor. It is also often played in the Dorian mode, but i didn't really like it. I like the story behind the origin of this song.According to sources from wiki, ''there is a persistent belief that Greensleeves was composed by Henry VIII for his lover and future queen consort Anne Boleyn. Boleyn allegedly rejected King Henry's attempts to seduce her and this rejection may be referred to in the song when the writer's love "cast me off discourteously". Makes me feel like watching the show '' The Tudor''. haha. It sounds really brillant on the harp :)

I love string instruments especially violin because I feel it has the greatest expressive power. I love the song ''Emmanuel''Lucia Micarelli with Chris Botti. Never knew trumpet could sound so erotic and sensual! Love the passion of Micarelli and how she intently stares at Botti while he does his solo. But really who could have resisted? Micarelli is real stunning her skin is really beautiful, fair and flawless. How I wished i had her skin. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8NN4fpdm40
Bat For Lashes (real name Natasha Khan) ia a Pakistanish-English musician based in the UK. I only came to like her recently after listening to the 909s In Dark Times mix of her song ''Sleep alone'' and instantly fell in love with it. I like the interplay of synths which were incorporated harmoniously giving the song a sophisticated, innovative and clean edge. Then I heard the live performance of this song she did at Abbey Road 2009. It was simply outstanding, mindblowing. It was distinct from the mix version, with a darker edge to it and sounded more tribalistic. It gave me goosebumps, it was pure goodness.

You use to light up the dark With your unrelenting spark It always put a fire in me
You use to say I'm the one The only ray of sun you could touch without the fear of burning
Well you use to try to please me Yeah you use to try to please me
Never said this would be easy Never said this would be easy
Well now, you tell her now While you hold her in your arms Are you pretending shes me?
Just alone I go Before you realize shes the one that you're going to lose anyway You just got there now you're leaving You just got there now you're leaving
Your sweet notes are deceiving Your sweet notes are deceiving
Well it ain't over till its over and my world shuts down But this comes close I'll have you know Its just a matter of time But it ain't over till its over but I won't be made a fool 'Cause leaving me the way you did was just so Unforgivable [x6]

GREAT NEWS! LADYTRON IS RELEASING A New Album: Gravity the Seducer after like 3 FREAKING YEARS!!! i am so mofo excited!! According to Daniel Hunt,''Gravity the Seducer is more of a jump than the last album was, more ethereal and melodic, a touch more abstract in places than we've gone before, baroque 'n' roll. It was a pleasure to make, took us right through last summer. It's our best record, in my opinion." ARE YOU EXCITED????!! SEPT 13, I AM WAITING!!!!
Anyway, I'm really very disappointed that ladytron doesn't come to singapore for tour! I'm like the ''HUGEST'' fan! Seriously damn frustruating, can someone please for goddamn sake bring in ladytron to singapore since they are going to Beijing for tour on 1st May??! TSK.It's time to bring some fawesome music to our boring landscape! Meanwhile imma keep my eyes PEELED for news of their tour
today's post is about.. Icelandic singer Emiliana Torrini! First heard her song ''gun'' from an online radio streaming website. This song is sweetly intoxicating, sexy, dark and dangerous, both melodically and lyrically. I also like '' Me and armini'' which is very old school sounding and soulful.
Just saw this video on fb and i was like shocked. A little bit of background, basically this dude is 23 and his fiancee is 47. Both families disapproves of their marriage and hence they set up this facebook page to get blessings. What's the point, seriously? They are only subjecting themselves to public judgement. I mean ok you guys love each other and your family disapproves, there is no need to announce it right? And seriously they look like mum and son. That dude is actually pretty fine-looking and speaks pretty well. Dunno what he's thinking. The Audrey woman is really selfish, never spare a thought for her daughter. It would be hard for the daughter to accept a ''stepfather'' young enough to be her brother. hmm i tink he will come to regret his choice ultimately. http://www.facebook.com/video/?id=201317936566855
there's something about these romanian musicians. their stuffs got these romanian vibes that i just totally digg, makes it sound more exotic-ish! lol
My Passion by Akcent OMFG this song is like love at first listen. Goodness... it gives me goosebumps man. The vibe is too sexy. gotta listen man
The other one, i prolly posted before already Edward Maya & Vika Jigulina's Stereo love. Vika's velvety voice autotuned to perfection, the punch of the beat and espectially the accordion made it sound more exotic.

Check out this new song by Teddybears feat Robyn. cute!
This had me crackin up haha. The china interviewers seriously EPIC FAIL here! lols started off with this china woman asking them ''You two look like a man'', followed by roaring laughter at the seemingly ridiculous question. Check out Helen's priceless expression at 0:06. haha but i think she didn't really mean it (language barrier) seeing that she frantically tries to salvage the situation by saying that she actually meant that they looked cool. Reuben looks like he's trying very hard to stifle an outburst of laughter at 0:19. hahaha. I thought Helen handled the situation very well. Check out the video below
I am totally in love with Rumer's ''Slow''. The potent combination of Rumer's alluring and unadulterated voice with the laid-back, sublimal instrumentals is likened to the pouring of warm honey into my ears, giving me eargasm.
I am the man with the heavy heart, and I dare not turn the pages. Riding with automatic self destruction. (I) Is a blind faith, a cruel waste, one bitter taste. So I know I need this sweet sensation.
(Ooooh) Sweet sensation, The music that we play, Will ease your mind. [X2]
What is a man now to do with his mind, when it's working over time. The best I can do is now dance with the devil. I, keep my self safe, I wont waste this time and space, So I know I need this sweet sensation.

Listening to 127 hours OST by A R Rahman.. Such a fantastic ost :D As I listen to each piece, the movie scene where it was being played resurfaced vividly in my mind. In my opinion, the movie was so memorable to me was partly due to the fantastic music that complements the powerful images. Some of the more powerful tracks includes Liberation begins Touch of the sun Liberation- sort of a continuation of ''Liberation begins'', except it being much more intense and urgent-sounding. But of course, since that was when Aron Ralston starts the self-amputation =/ And of course there was my fav piano piece Nocturne and also Lovely day by Bill Withers. Then there is also the 1977 Euro-punk anthem Ça Plane Pour Moi by Plastic Bertrand.
Last but not least would be the soulful ''If I rise'' by Dido and AR Rahman. :) Enjoy this beautiful piece.. :) Seriously, 127 hours shld have won the title of best soundtrack in Oscar!
Clint Eastwood- Loving the sinister sounding synth in the bkground!
I think i'm abandoning my tumblr and come back to using blogger. Initially thought that tumblr was a good platform for multimedia blogging, well it is, just that it doesn't allow me to embed more than 1 video in a single entry. -.-'. That's kinda dumb, seriously.
Blah
Anyway it's finally the end of clinicals, which means end of year 2! This has been such a bloody loooong semester. Long and torturous i would say. 2 clinicals, which are both dreadful. I nearly failed the second one. But now I'm actually starting to miss TTSH, the small cubicle that the 8 of us had to squeeze into, writing case notes, mugging and practising our techniques inside it. Also kinda wondering how my patients are doing, whether they've been doing the exercises i've give. Really wonder what happen to my Achilles tendinopathy patient after i advised him to return to his usual training intensity. haha. Also missing the food over there, the vinegar-laden bak chor mee (which my friend say isn't very nice actually lol) and the black pepper chicken rice (YUMMY!) from the Indonesian Grill store. And not to forget my daily dose of Mr bean soya milk and then we wil be happily eating our food in the garden outside kopi, basking in the sun at the same time. haha. And then there is this horse clay figure on one of the shelves in Ringo's room where we "hide'' the key to our possessions. haha. If not for the fact that i was borderline fail, i would have enjoyed my placement =/. Good ol' memories =)
Anyway, got a few nice listens i found, now that i am freaking free. hahaha Found this psychedelic rock band called Jefferson Airplane, and a few of their songs caught my attention. My personal fav would be ''Lather''. I guess it's the enthralling and haunting melody. Somehow this song reminds me of ''Scaborough fair'' and ''Stairway to heaven'' by Led Zepellin. From 1.17 onwards, there is this dude who plays this unknown instrument which i find very intriguing, spiritual and tribalistic- sounding.
Lather
This is another interesting song of theirs, called ''White rabbits'', with reference made to Alice in Wonderland.
